YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect information about you from your membership application, and from your registration to RC21 Conferences or Summer School. We might also collect additional information during the course of your membership about your interests, expertise, responses to surveys, attendance at events and other contact you have with us.

In collecting this information, we are acting as a data controller and by law we are required to provide you with information about us, about why and how we use your data and about the rights you have over your data.

The information we collect includes:

Your name and contact details – (country of origin, year of birth, professional position, university or organization, department, institutional address, Zip code, city, province, country of residence, professional e-mail, discipline, ISA membership status) postal address, telephone numbers, fax and email addresses). These are recorded in our database

  • so that your name appears in the list of Members on the RC21 website;
  • in order to contact you with information regarding RC21 events either locally or internationally;
  • so that you can benefit from offers available to RC21 Members;

We will use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • to administer your membership record, inform you of activities and fulfil our obligations to you as a member;
  • to communicate with you generally.

Data relating to members and other affiliates is stored securely and is only be accessible to authorised persons. All data relating to members are stored in the wildapricot system. Your financial information is used for the sole purpose of billing you for services you have ordered (registration to conferences and membership). Credit card information is used only for completing the specific transaction for which the credit card information was supplied. RC21 does not collect or save credit card information.

DATA STORAGE

Your personal information is stored in our database which is password controlled and access is restricted. Data is never shared with third parties. Personal data is held for the duration of your membership.

ACCESS TO YOUR DATA

You can access your data via the website amend it yourself. Alternatively, you can request that details are changed or deleted by us on your behalf. You can contact us whenever you want to edit or delete your data.
